The Department of History at Michigan State University would like to congratulate Associate Professor of History Dr. Sean Forner on receiving a Franklin Research Grant from the American Philosophical Society, the oldest learned society in the United States. The award will support archival fieldwork in Britain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and Switzerland for his project on the transnational networks of Europe’s intellectual “First New Left” in the 1950s and early 1960s.
