We are pleased to announce that Professor Naoko Wake has been awarded a DRN-LAP award.
Prof Wake plans to use the funds for archival research in Berkeley, CA and Seattle, WA, for her new project Toward a History of Disability in the Asian Pacific Islander American Diaspora. The project explores the history of APIA people’s disabilities relying on sources found at unexpected places both in and out of historical archives, using a relatively under-explored intersectionality—of race and ability—in the field of immigration history as a theoretical ground.
