Dr. Yelena Kalinsky published a book, Andrei Monastyrski: Elementary Poetry from Ugly Duckling Presse. Edited, translated, and introduced with Brian Droitcour, and with a preface by Boris Groys. This book is the first English translation of the early conceptual poetry of Andrei Monastyrski, an important contemporary Russian artist whose work was partially the subject of Dr. Kalinsky’s PhD dissertation.
She also just finished a mini book tour with readings and papers at the two-day Editing the Soviet Underground symposium at the University of Toronto and a one-day Moscow Conceptualism: New Translations from the Russian symposium at Berkeley. And there are events planned for New York, Ann Arbor, and Chicago in the new year.
