The University of Macau (UM) Publications Centre today (12 March) held a book launch for the Chinese version of The Journey to the East: The Jesuit Mission to China, 1579-1724. The English version of the book, written by Liam Matthew Brockey, has won numerous awards, including the Phi Alpha Theta Best First Book Award and the John Gilmary Shea Prize, since it was published by Harvard University Press in 2007. The book launch attracted historians, faculty members, and students.
