David Wheat was awarded an ACLS Collaborative Research Fellowship for the project ‘Iberian Slave Routes: The Transatlantic Slave Trade to Spanish America, 1500-1640’. In collaboration with historian Marc Eagle (Western Kentucky University), he will conduct research in archives in Spain and Portugal in 2015-2016.
