Professor Ann Larabee (English, MSU) will deliver the first talk of this year’s Speaker Series. The title of the talk is “The Wrong Hands: Dangerous Instructional Speech, Violence and the Law.”
Prof. Larabee is an expert on radicalism and terrorism. Her publications include Decade of Disaster (University of Illinois Press, 2000) and The Dynamite Fiend: The Chilling Tale of a Confederate Spy, Con Artist, and Mass Murderer (Palgrave Macmillan, 2006) Her talk in the Speaker Series will draw on her forthcoming book, The Wrong Hands: Popular Weapons Manuals and their Historic Challenges to a Democratic Society (Oxford University Press.)
