Cheikh Babou, PhD 2002, has just become an editor of the leading journal in the field, the Journal of African History, for the period 2011-2015. He published the widely acclaimed volume on the foundations of the Muridiyya Sufi order in Senegal, “Fighting the Greater Jihad.” He was recently tenured and promoted to Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
