I am a historian of modern Africa and China with a focus on Nigerian, Nigeria-China relations, and migration history. My work examines the historical and contemporary migration of Chinese people to Nigeria as well as their interaction with the Nigerian state, workers, and consumers in late colonial and post-independence Nigeria.
My research and writing have been funded by the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholar Exchange, the MSU Department of History, the MSU Graduate School, and the MSU African Studies Center.
I have a B. A. in History from Sichuan University, China and a M.A. in International Politics from Peking University, China.
