The Latino Heritage Month first event at MSU will screen history professorJavier Pescador’s most recent documentary: Graduation and Me. Latinas & Latinos Breaking Barriers. The event is on Sep.15th at 6:30 in the Kellog Center (Lincoln Room). Here is the description of the oral history film:

Graduation and Me: Latinas & Latinos Breaking BarriersĀ (Javier Pescador 2015).

This documentary explores the experiences of Latina/o college students in Michigan (Michigan State, Grand Valley, Lansing Community College) and the multiple obstacles they face in obtaining a degree. Based on oral history interviews this film unveils the resilience and determination of Latina/os to survive and thrive against all odds.
