Each year, the History Department sets aside a number of Graduate Assistantships for entering and continuing PhD students. Graduate funding packages include a stipend, a waiver of up to nine credit hours of tuition for each term, and health insurance coverage. Students admitted to the History Department with assistantships may expect a minimum of five years of support, so long as they make satisfactory progress in their studies.
The annual call for assistantship applications goes out mid-spring via the graduate student email list. All students who wish to be considered for an assistantship must fill out an application. Questions about the assistantship application process should be directed to the Academic Programs Coordinator.
