History department doctoral student Estela Gonçalves de Souza recently collaborated with MSU’s Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies to develop a resource package for teachers in K-12 education about Brazil and Latin America. The materials contain information about slavery in Brazil and its effects on daily life and culture in the present day, and resources related to the long lasting effects of slavery in the US for purposes of comparisons.
