Biography
I research how the twentieth-century legal regulation of immigration from the Asia Pacific to the United States shaped understandings of citizenship, family, and the nation. I am also interested in how such immigration informed state practices of legal regulation and administration. Currently I am examining the establishment of federal laws regulating the immigration of spouses and intended spouses of U.S. military personnel following World War II.
