I am a historian of the global 1960s, focusing on Turkey and China. My research explores comparative social movements, particularly Turkish student and labor activism and Chinese workers’ experiences during the 1960s-70s. I also seek to outline the trajectory of Turkish radical left movements and examine the transnational circulation and impact of Maoism as an ideology. Understanding this transnational connection will help us re-contextualize both China and Turkey’s positions in the Global Sixties.
