Wheat wins Harriet Tubman book prize

David Wheat’s book Atlantic Africa and the Spanish Caribbean, 1570-1640 (UNC Press, 2016) has been awarded the 2017 Harriet Tubman Book Prize, awarded by the Lapidus Center for the Historical Analysis of Transatlantic Slavery at the New York Public Library’s Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.
