The department is pleased to announce that Latin Americanists Jennifer Eaglin and Alex Galarza have each won a Fulbright IIE Award for 2012-2013.
Jennifer’s research examines the development of the ethanol industry in Brazil under the military dictatorship in the 1970s and 1980s. She will spend nine months doing oral interviews and archival research throughout the state of São Paulo.
Alex’s research examines soccer clubs in mid-twentieth century Argentina. He will spend nine months doing archival investigation, collecting oral history interviews, and conducting ethnographic fieldwork in Buenos Aires.
