Michael J. Rasak is a Ph.D. student in U.S. History, focusing on the intersection of drone technologies and American foreign policy since the Cold War. His research explores the history of technology, war, and imperialism from early modernity to the present. He has previously published on emerging technologies and methods of command and control as they relate to historical and modern military strategy.
Michael currently serves as an active duty U.S. Army Major and General Andrew J. Goodpaster Scholar. His operational experience, including multiple deployments to Afghanistan, informs his current research. He holds a B.A. from Michigan State University (2011), an M.M.A.S. from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (2022), and an M.A. in History from Western Kentucky University (2024).
