The Fate of Our Democracy and How History Can Help Us

Join us on Thursday October 17th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Michigan State University's Main Library Green Room (4th floor west wing) for an afternoon with Pulitzer award-winning author and College of Social Science alumnus, David W. Blight PhD. David will be signing books after the lecture, if you would like to purchase one ahead of time.

David W. Blight is Sterling Professor of History and Director of the Gilder Lehman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition at Yale University. He has worked on Frederick Douglass much of his professional life, and has been awarded the Pulitzer Prize, the Bancroft Prize, the Abraham Lincoln Prize, and the Frederick Douglass Prize, among others. His lecture course on the Civil War and Reconstruction Era at Yale is on the internet at oyc.yale.edu/history/hst-119. Blight has always been a teacher first.
