“Collaborative DH in the Classroom: Transforming Humanities Evidence into Network Data using Net.Create”

Abstract: In this workshop, we’ll spend some hands-on time with a toolkit that combines Net.Create (a software tool designed by digital humanists for digital humanists ) with evidenced-based activity designs and research methods that have shaped successful collaborative digital-humanities classroom and research environments. We’ll start with a collaborative take on network data entry as a form of scholarly communication, and then use that as a springboard to work through principles for successful collaborative humanities-data learning, how to find and identify digital tools that support those collaborative humanities-learning goals. Finally, we’ll end with time for you to design your own digital-humanities collaborative activity that brings scholarly communication, interpretation, citation, and evidence-as-data principles to bear in your classroom or research team.
