Second year PhD student, Aaron Luedtke, has won the Stevens Researcher Travel Fellowship, awarded by the Bentley Historical Library, Ann Arbor, MI, for his project, “Cultural Memory as Evidence in Anishinaabe Speeches.” The goal of the project is to search for traces of Indigenous cultural continuity in the Great Lakes region across time and space by analyzing speeches given by various Anishinaabe leaders over the course of the seventeenth through nineteenth centuries.
