Lucy (Lu) Cai (she/they) is a Chinese feminist scholar and activist based in the United States. She is a first-year PhD student in the Department of History at Michigan State University. Lucy holds an MA in Gender, Feminist, and Women’s Studies from York University in Toronto, Canada, and a BA in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and French from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. Lucy’s research interests include transnational Chinese feminism, postwar nationalism, women’s and gender history, and digital feminist activism. Her research interests have been heavily influenced by her experiences as a feminist activist and organizer in Belgium, New York, Pennsylvania, and Shenzhen, PR China.
