London Hawes is a scholar of the American women’s suffrage movement. Her MA thesis, Eleanor Spears and the Unanswered Questions of Progressivism, examined the life of a previously unknown New York suffragist and supported the existence of a Long Progressive Era. London’s other research interests include trans-Pacific and Pan-American suffrage linkages, city planning, and the cultural history of beaches and oceans. When she’s not busy reading, London can be found searching for the perfect chai latte, visiting random small towns, or streaming on Twitch. She passionately supports the University of Oregon Ducks and is in a situationship with the Seattle Mariners.
