On October 4, PhD candidate Anh Le delivered a public lecture entitled “Locating Cosmopolitan Saigon: Reading Urban and Socioeconomic Changes in Colonial Newspapers.” The talk took place at Salon Saigon, Contemporary Arts and Heritage, which is the former residence of the US Ambassador to Southern Vietnam Henry Cabot Lodge and now renovated to become one of the leading contemporary art spaces in Ho Chi Minh City. This event is sponsored by the Indochina Art Partnership (IAP) and Saigon Blueprint—both work to promote cultural and heritage knowledge in Vietnam through the medium of arts and to create a productive venue for exchanges between academics and artists.
