The Football Scholars Forum, based in the History Department and convened by Prof. Peter Alegi, recently held two sessions. On February 25, the fútbology collective discussed Soccer Diplomacy: International Relations and Football since 1914 (Univ. Press of Kentucky, 2020) with the volume editor, historian Heather Dichter. On April 21, FSF welcomed sociologist David Trouille, author of Fútbol in the Park: Immigrants, Soccer, and the Creation of Social Ties (Univ. of Chicago Press, 2021).
Audio recording of the sessions are available here and here (for personal/educational use only).
FSF’s next session is planned for early June (date/time TBD). For more information, visit footballscholars.org.
