SOVIET SOCIALISM IN LABOR, MATERIAL CULTURE, AND MIGRATION: A CONFERENCE HONORING LEWIS SIEGELBAUM

On the weekend of March 23-24, we will honor Dr. Lewis Siegelbaum’s career as an historian of the Soviet Union with a conference on Russian and Soviet history. On Friday, March 23, Dr. Diane Koenker, professor emerita of history at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, current director of the School of Slavonic and East European Studies at University College London, and a longtime friend and colleague of Dr. Siegelbaum’s, will deliver a keynote address. Dr. Siegelbaum’s current and former students and colleagues in the field of Russian and Soviet history will present papers, spanning four centuries of history in the field.
