The students of HST 807 would like to invite students, faculty, and staff to the launch party of their website:  “Skin Deep:  Contemporary Engagements with American Memory, Race, Immigration, and Contested Spaces.”  The website uses historical literature to engage contemporary American public debates over race, ethnicity, and immigration, ranging from the controversy over the name of the Washington Redskins to the origins of neo-Nazi iconography on display in Charlottesville.

The party will be Monday, December 4, from 5-7 pm, in the LEADR laboratory in the History Department, 112 Old Horticulture. Come check out this fantastic new website and congratulate the students responsible!  Food will be served!
