The 19th Annual Snyder lecture will take place at 10 a.m. March 2nd 2011 in Masters hall in the Georgia Center
The lecture will be delivered by Nwando Achebe, History professor at the Michigan State University. Professor Achebe’s scholarship and research interests involve the use of oral history in the study of women, gender, sexuality, and power in Nigeria.
Dr. Achebe’s scholarship provides an alternative narrative to West African histories to include the voices of women in cultural and national administration. Her ongoing projects examine African women, power, and empowerment in post-colonial Nigeria and in the Diaspora.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
