Professor Ethan Segal became president of the Midwest Conference
on Asian Affairs (MCAA) at its conference held at Washington University in St. Louis last weekend. The MCAA brings together scholars of Asian Studies in a wide range of disciplines; it is a regional branch of the Association for Asian Studies. Segal had previous served as program chair for the 2013 conference (held at Michigan State University) and was elected vice president last year.
