Undergraduate Scholarships

The Department of History is happy to announce the opening of competition for four undergraduate scholarships.

If you fit the criteria for any of them, we urge you to apply.  In past years, we have had relatively few applicants for these scholarships, which means that your chances of winning one are high. They are substantial: last year each one was worth $1000.00.  If you spend five hours applying for one (and you probably would need only about that long, if even that much) the rate of return if you are successful is $200 per hour!  So apply!!

DEADLINE:  Applications for all four scholarships are due in the History Department office (301 Morrill Hall) by 5:00 P.M. on Thursday March 30 and will be considered by the Undergraduate Affairs Committee of the Department of  History.

There is no application form: your letter of application serves as your application form.

You may apply for more than one of these scholarships, but please submit a separate application for each one.  (You may use the same letters of  recommendation for multiple applications.)
