French Translation for Professor David Robinson’s Book

David Robinson has just had published, by Editions Karthala in Paris, the French version of his "Muslim Societies in African History" (Cambridge 2004).  The translation was launched by a subsidy from the department, college, provost and ISP a few years ago.  The French version has the title "Les societes musulmanes africaines: configurations et trajectoires historiques," and runs for 300 pages instead of 200.  The main reason is the existence of new bibliographical essays, put together mainly by two French colleagues, that make this work an invaluable reference tool for francophone undergraduates and other readers.
